International cooperation

Think globally, act locally: In terms of global climate change, it is ultimately irrelevant where greenhouse gas emissions are generated. In terms of climate protection, it is therefore important to look beyond the borders of Germany and Europe. In addition, air pollution caused by traffic emissions is particularly high in a large number of megacities in emerging countries. ifeu’s expertise in the area of emissions modelling, analysis of alternative powertrains, and the development of measures and strategies designed to reduce emissions, can provide valuable support with local solutions. ifeu is therefore involved in a large number of collaborative international projects. Most of ifeu’s collaborative international projects in the transport sector are commissioned by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). The cooperation is focussed on ecological audits and emissions modelling, and on measures and strategies designed to reduce traffic.
