Climate Neighbourhoods

ABOUT CLIMATE NEIGHBOURHOODS

The Climate Neighbourhoods (CN) will take place on 22 and 23 of May 2019 in the immediate vicinity of ICCA2019 in Heidelberg. The central question of the ICCA, how vertical and horizontal cooperation can lead to the intensification and dissemination of climate mitigation and adaptation activities, is to be discussed with the actors on the ground within the framework of the CN.

Boundless exchange and interaction

The CN act as a meeting and exchange space for various actors from local government, civil society and companies that are actively involved in climate action. In particular, young people and the interested public are given the opportunity to contribute their perspectives on climate mitigation and adaptation through participatory elements. The aim of the event is to create a link between the representatives of the political and implementing level of climate action projects and the general public in order to think together more comprehensively about climate action and to approach the demands of the Paris Convention more ambitiously.

Let’s scale-up good ideas!

Within the framework of the CN, participants from all over the world are invited to take up ICCA topics such as low-carbon mobility or sustainable consumption. Through an interactive programme with workshops, open-space discussions, exhibitions and actions, recommendations to policy-makers are developed and presented at the ICCA.

All information and a pre-registration form can be found at www.cn2019.org. There you will also find an overview of the Climate Neighbourhoods programme.
