The project Climate Protection in Hospitals by Optimising Supply Chains (KliOL) has the goal of using the example of Heidelberg University Hospital (UKHD) to balance the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of hospitals with a focus on emissions from supply chains ("Scope 3" emissions), to implement exemplary climate protection measures at the UKHD and to evaluate the effects on the greenhouse gas balance, costs and possible health effects. In cooperation with the Heidelberg Institute for Global Health, ifeu's contribution is the development and application of the GHG calculator. The project is funded within the framework of the National Climate Initiative.
