Recognizing and evaluating the GHG reduction potential of resource efficiency policy

While the general relationship between climate and resource efficiency policy is obvious, the estimation of the scale of the interlinkage between both policy areas is not trivial due to the complexity of the feedback and the heterogeneity of impacts. Trends and megatrends having both positive and negative impacts on raw material use and greenhouse gas emissions make it difficult to estimate the direction of change in a robust manner.

The project addresses this challenge. With systemic modeling the complexity of feedbacks is systematically addressed, and currently known and unknown causal relations are made transparent.
