Milk calculator
As part of the project entitled Ableitung von Optimierungspotentialen zur umweltfreundlichen Herstellung von Milch und Milcherzeugnissen (Deriving optimisation potentials for the environmentally friendly production of milk and milk products), which was funded by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), ifeu undertook a comprehensive study of the environmental impact of different dairy products and also designed the climate and energy calculator for the German dairy industry and populated it with the relevant data. The calculator is aimed in particular at dairies, and enables them to calculate greenhouse gas and energy balance sheets in relation to specific products and processes. Other interested user groups can also find out about the impact of various scenarios on the greenhouse gas and energy balances of their selected dairy products.
