Potential analysis of renewable energies within the framework of RED II
Article 15(7) of the Renewable Energy Directive (RED II) requires the European Commission to assess the potential for energy from renewable sources and the use of waste heat and cooling in the heating and cooling sector.
ifeu and its partners analyze the technical and economic demand potentials in the field of energy from renewable sources and the use of waste heat and cooling in the heating and cooling sector. The potentials from solar energy, biomass, ambient energy, geothermal energy and waste heat and cooling are evaluated for the status quo and for the years 2030 and 2050.
In addition, the project examines in detail the potential for using heating and cooling from wastewater by creating wastewater atlases based on three examples. These atlases will be integrated into a web application and published.
