Long-term and climate protection scenarios for the transformation of the energy system in Germany

The projects are developed by Fraunhofer-Institut für System- und Innovationsforschung (ISI), Consentec GmbH, Institut für Energie- und Umweltforschung Heidelberg GmbH (ifeu), with contributions from M-Five, Technische Universität Wien, TEP Energy GmbH and GEF Ingenieur AG.

In various scenarios, the cost-optimized development of the German energy system up to 2050 is investigated, with a special focus on the electricity sector. ifeu has contributed to scenario development and ecological assessment. Further scenarios for the ongoing project will be examined and published in the coming months.
