The critical review process is a key instrument to ensure studies, scientific publications and concepts follow principles of coherent systematics and inherent consistency in accordance with state-of-the-art scientific methodology. Critical reviews are particularly important for life cycle assessments (LCA).

Product LCAs
ifeu has decades of experience in analysing the environmental impact of products. In particular, the institute uses the standardised life cycle assessment methodology (ISO 14040/44), which facilitates a scientifically substantiated and standardised calculation of the environmental impact of a product system.
