Change of managing director at ifeu

On 1 March 2026, Andreas Detzel will hand over his position as Commercial Director to Andreas Höger. The decision was made at his own request with the aim of reducing his working hours in order to have more time for personal interests. The change in management will take place as planned and with the involvement of the institute's employees. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Andreas Detzel for 11 years of valuable leadership and reliable cooperation, which have contributed significantly to the further development of ifeu. We are very pleased to be able to continue working with him as colleagues. At the same time, we are delighted to welcome Alexander Höger as the new commercial member of the management team.

The current scientific management team, consisting of Lothar Eisenmann and Prof. Dr. Martin Pehnt, will remain in place. Together with Alexander Höger, the new commercial director who has been heading the Administration and Finance department at ifeu Heidelberg since July 2022, they will continue to run the institute as a trio.

‘In my new role, I would like to consistently continue the modernisation process that has already begun and further strengthen the institute both organisationally and economically,’ says Alexander Höger, outlining his goals. ‘Cooperation with my colleagues is particularly important to me. I want to be a contact person on an equal footing – open, reliable and appreciative. For me, good leadership means making decisions transparently, listening and developing solutions together.’

Andreas Detzel bids farewell to his position with the following words: "During my time as commercial director, we successfully transitioned ifeu from a small to a medium-sized company and expanded and modernised the associated financial management accordingly. This coincides with my desire to devote more time to my personal interests in the future. All in all, it is the right time to pass on the baton.
