Heat Atlas Germany now available in version 4.0
Update of the proven data basis for municipal heat planning, heat supply concepts and potential analyses
The Heat Atlas Germany 4.0 maps the energy demand of residential and non-residential buildings on an updated database and is specially designed for the requirements of municipal heat planning and the development of heat supply concepts. The first version of the heat atlas was developed back in 2015 and has since been updated several times by geomer GmbH, ifeu gGmbH and GEF Ingenieur AG.
The Heat Atlas Germany 4.0 shows the energy requirements of every building for heating and hot water. With the help of this information, heating plans and heating concepts can be based on a solid foundation and data-driven decisions can be made. The data is available on a building-specific basis and is suitable for digital twins, reports, funding applications, public information and the like. Local authorities, energy suppliers, research institutions and engineering firms are now using this data throughout Germany.
The current official building stock from 2024 was used for the new version. In addition, information from the current 2022 census has also been incorporated into the improved calculation of heat demand values. The Heat Atlas Germany 4.0 thus offers an optimal and comprehensive data basis for municipal heat planning, heat supply concepts, transformer planning and potential analyses.
The Heat Atlas Germany 4.0 can be licensed for individual spatial sections as part of a purchase licence. Please contact the geomer GmbH.
