How can our traffic change for the better? ifeu expertise at the Transport and Climate Change Week

Since it was first held in 2017, the Transport and Climate Change Week has established as a successful format that enables dialogue, cooperation and exchange between developing countries and growing economies.

ifeu scientist Marie Colson is one of the experts at the expert clinics on 23 June. That allows country delegations who participate in the transport week to consult privately with top-rated international experts. In a 45-minute session, the delegates of a country can seek qualified advice on any aspect of promoting a climate-friendly modal shift. The selection of experts will be diverse and cover topics such as cycling, walking, public transport, informal transport, infrastructure financing or multimodal freight. The aim is to make the work of transport decision-makers and officials easier through offering information, tips and tricks by experts. This will equip the participants with the right  knowledge to create even more successful sustainable transport projects.

On 25 June, ifeu will participate in a workshop on the tool MobiliseYourCity. This session will introduce the MobiliseYourCity Emissions Calculator developed by ifeu and provide all the resources participants need to start using it in their own city or country. Emissions calculators are valuable tools to help cities and countries in their planning process for sustainable urban mobility.

The event is organised by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) financed by the International Climate Initiative (IKI).
