Those who are about to choose a profession or a course of study often have little idea of what certain job titles mean. And these ideas do not always match reality.
The Federal Employment Agency helps people just starting out in their careers and other interested parties to get a realistic picture of the typical activities, workplaces and work equipment of different occupations, processes and visualises these in the form of various media. One of these offers is the comprehensive lexicon "BERUFENET", which not only describes occupations as precisely as possible, but also makes them tangible in the form of contemporary picture series.
The BERUFENET editorial team was looking for support in describing the profession and creating a contemporary series of pictures of engineers in environmental protection/environmental technology - and found it in Heidelberg: after discussing the locations and typical activities, a group of ifeu scientists were happy to make themselves available for the modelling job, which was probably also a new experience for most of them.
You can see the result here.
Thanks to BERUFENET for this exceptional request.
