Start of the Climate Awakening in Erlangen

The Erlangen City Council decided on 27 October to make the " Roadmap Climate Awakening" the basis for its actions. The Roadmap was developed by ifeu together with all climate-relevant actors in Erlangen (representatives from citizens, business, administration and civil society) in the period from November 2021 to September 2022 and contains 41 measures with which Erlangen can take a major step towards climate neutrality by 2030.

In a first step, the resources required for the implementation of 14 of the 41 measures are to be made available in the coming financial year 2023. The other measures are then to be successively taken up in the following years and the catalogue of measures is to be fully implemented. 

In addition to the city administration and the city's subsidiaries, the Roadmap addresses the entire city society and all stakeholders in Erlangen. In order to achieve the goal of climate neutrality together, everyone is called upon to participate and to implement the Roadmap. That is why a "City Climate Contract" has been set up. Citizens and stakeholders can symbolically join the Climate Awakening with the Contract and submit an individual contribution.
