Calculation of the environmental impact of KfW's Clean Transport projects
A central element in the financing activities of Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) is combating climate change by financing measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In order to be able to evaluate the impact of these measures, standardised methodologies for calculating emission reductions are being developed across the Group. ifeu has developed such a KfW methodology for the transport and mobility sector.
In addition, ifeu applied the methodology to a financing year of the ‘Sustainable Mobility’ programme as an example. With this programme, KfW promotes investments in sustainable and climate-friendly mobility within Germany in accordance with the EU taxonomy.
