Further development of the Integrated Climate Protection Plan Hesse 2025 – Climate Plan Hesse 2030
According to the Climate Protection Act, Hesse is to become climate neutral between January 2023 and 2045. To achieve this, many decisions must be made and measures implemented at the state level. The ifeu has supported the development of these measures together with its project partners Bosch & Partner, Fraunhofer ISI, Öko-Institut, Umbau Stadt and ZIV. The Hesse Climate Plan 2030, also enshrined in the Climate Protection Act, has been adopted by the cabinet and outlines how the state of Hesse will act to achieve its ambitious goals.
Since June 2021, the consortium has been tasked with supporting the Hesse Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection, Agriculture and Consumer Protection in developing the Hesse Climate Plan 2030. The aim was to work with the departments to develop innovative and targeted climate plan measures, on the one hand to significantly reduce emissions and, on the other hand, to adapt Hesse to climate change.
Following the adoption of the climate plan, the departments are now starting to implement it. The expert consortium will continue to provide support where possible and desired. Initially, it will provide scientific support for the introduction of the climate check for laws and guidelines and will also assist in specifying the support services for local authorities.
