Scientific advice in connection with the development of the Euro 7 standard

In order to effectively reduce pollutant emissions from motor vehicles and thus contribute to air quality management, it is necessary to continuously review and revise the existing legal requirements. In particular, the inclusion of further pollutants (e.g. emissions from tyre and brake wear), the significance of which has steadily increased, must be addressed. As part of the project, potential proposals for improvements to the existing emission standards for passenger cars, light commercial vehicles and heavy goods vehicles were therefore developed and incorporated into the process of drafting the Euro 7 emissions standard.
