Sufficiency in urban neighbourhoods

Practices and formats for social diffusion in the areas of housing, mobility and nutrition

The aim of the joint project “Lebensqualität, Teilhabe und Ressourcenschonung durch soziale Diffusion von Suffizienzpraktiken in Stadtquartiere” (SuPraStadt) was to make lifestyles in urban neighbourhoods resource-efficient and sustainable. In real-life laboratories in Heidelberg, Dortmund and Kelsterbach, sufficiency approaches such as communal living, local mobility and sustainable food practices were tested. A toolbox with practical instructions for citizens, neighbourhood managers and local initiatives supports the dissemination of the approaches in order to make sufficiency tangible in everyday life and applicable for municipalities.
