Update TREMOD 2024

The TREMOD (Transport ⁠Emission⁠ Model)  emissions calculation model maps motorized transport in Germany in terms of traffic and mileage, energy consumption, and associated air pollutant emissions for the period from 1960 to 2050. It was developed by the ifeu Institute on behalf of the German Federal Environment Agency and has been continuously updated for several years.

The current project served to update and supplement TREMOD. For the emissions inventory, the inventory, driving, and traffic performance data were updated to 2023. For 2024, the “provisional emission data from the previous year” (VEdV 2024) were determined in accordance with the Federal Climate Protection Act. The trend scenario will then be updated up to 2050. The current calculation results for energy consumption and pollutant emissions are presented as examples.
