Firstly, this research project analyses the interactions and conflicts of biomass use with environmental and nature conservation concerns. This is done in three steps. In the first step, the existing literature is analysed.

The second part discusses proposed measures for the implementation of a sustainable bioeconomy.

The third part elaborates on how biomass flows can be prioritised towards sustainable biomass use.

Finally, proposals are made for measures and instruments to create the necessary framework conditions. These refer again to the results of the second part, but also include the conclusions of the other project results.
