Global-Bio-Pact

Hauptziel des Projekts Global-Bio-Pact (Global-Bio-Pact Global Assessment of Biomass and Bioproduct Impacts on Socio-economics and Sustainability) war die Entwicklung und Harmonisierung globaler Nachhaltigkeitszertifizierungssysteme für Biomasseproduktion, Konversionssysteme und Handel, um negative sozioökonomische Auswirkungen zu vermeiden.

Der Schwerpunkt lag auf einer detaillierten Bewertung der sozioökonomischen Auswirkungen der Rohstoffproduktion und einer Vielzahl von Biomasse-Umwandlungsketten. Die Auswirkungen der Biomasseproduktion auf die globale und lokale Ernährungssicherheit und die Zusammenhänge zwischen ökologischen und sozioökonomischen Auswirkungen wurden analysiert. Darüber hinaus untersuchte das Projekt Global-Bio-Pact die Auswirkungen der Biomasseproduktion auf die Ernährungssicherheit und die Wechselwirkung der globalen Nachhaltigkeitszertifizierungssysteme mit dem internationalen Handel mit Biomasse und Bioprodukten sowie mit der öffentlichen Wahrnehmung der Biomasseproduktion für industrielle Anwendungen.

Schließlich entwickelte das Projekt Global-Bio-Pact eine Reihe von sozioökonomischen Nachhaltigkeitskriterien und -indikatoren für die Einbeziehung in ein zukünftiges effektives Zertifizierungssystem, und das Projekt erarbeitete Empfehlungen, wie die Kriterien der sozioökonomischen Nachhaltigkeit am besten in die europäische Gesetzgebung und Politik für Biomasse und Bioprodukte integriert werden können.
