My eRoads – Online consulting tool for truck electrification

The "My eRoads" online tool enables truck operators to assess the potential for using electric trucks in their fleet based on specific usage profiles and vehicle models available on the market. As result, the tool provides information on technical suitability (range, payload), total cost of ownership (TCO incl. charging infrastructure) and greenhouse gas savings (CO₂-eq.) compared to a diesel reference vehicle.

After selecting relevant vehicle configuration (size class, body) and entering a typical operating day graphically, results are displayed for all vehicle models eligible within the database. For the total cost of ownership calculation, the tool also considers currently available federal and state subsidy programs. Afterwards, users can adjust the results based on a variety of parameters and adapt them to the respective operational situation. For example, purchase prices (vehicles, charging infrastructure), energy costs (diesel, electricity, hydrogen), fuel consumption and other parameters can be individually specified.

The tool was developed as part of the equally named research project funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). For all interested, the tool is available online www.my-e-roads.de/en since end of 2022. The databases (e.g. vehicle database) are updated regularly.
