Renovation roadmap Baden-Württemberg

ifeu has been exploring the methodology and contents required for a personalized renovation roadmap since 2010. In 2014 and 2015, the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Environment commissioned ifeu in collaboration with ECONSULT to use this initial research for the development of a consulting tool, which was ready for application in Baden-Württemberg in 2015. In a joint effort with many stakeholders, the renovation roadmap Baden-Württemberg was developed as a simple but convincing product for building renovation. It was then introduced in combination with energy consulting software houses, tested in a pilot project and in three operator workshops, and finally integrated into instruments of state policy.

“Considering the long-term target”– this underlying approach of federal scenario studies is specified in the renovation roadmap for buildings, precisely down to the individual building. Thus, there is access to a novel consulting product that replaces the energy savings check previously carried out by the state. Moreover, the State Government initiated a number of accompanying measures, e.g. increased funding for buildings with existing renovation roadmaps and part-recognition of a renovation roadmap in the context of the renewable energy legislation of the State of Baden-Württemberg.
