Healthy on the move - active mobility as a health resource

Position paper

Authors: Hendrik Beeh, Fabian Bergk

Regular exercise has a number of positive effects on health and general well-being, but more than half of the adult population does not get enough exercise and therefore does not benefit sufficiently. At an expert meeting, various institutions discussed how active mobility can be strengthened and how the areas of transport and health can be better linked.

The expert discussion was a follow-up activity of the Round Table for Physical Activity and Health with the aim of strengthening active, health-promoting mobility. This position paper (in German), which summarises the health benefits and recommended measures for promoting active mobility, was produced as part of this work.
