Raw material demand in Baden-Württemberg: analysis, risk assessment and future concepts
The project aims to carry out a comprehensive analysis of (metallic) raw material demand in Baden-Württemberg, combined with an assessment of the associated social, ecological and human rights risks in global raw material supply chains. Based on these findings, specific recommendations for action for a sustainable and fair raw materials policy in Baden-Württemberg are to be developed. One focus is on sensitizing various target groups to the issue of raw material justice, promoting the responsible use of resources and supporting companies with regard to due diligence processes.
Ifeu will conduct a scientific study for this purpose. This will include a quantitative analysis of raw material demand and a risk analysis, which will be carried out using key raw materials as examples. The study will methodically ensure that the perspective of experts from the countries that extract raw materials is especially represented. The results of the study will be presented by the project partner WÖK e.V. in a brochure and individual factsheets in a way that is understandable for the target group. In addition, the results and recommendations for action will be discussed by the project partner DEAB e.V. with political actors, civil society actors and companies and made available to a broad public through public relations work. The results of the study will also be made available to various stakeholders in educational work in Baden-Württemberg.
