Green public procurement of vehicles
Final report follow-up project
Authors: Udo Lambrecht, Julia Pelzeter, Felix Spathelf, Hinrich Helms
In the context of public procurement, motor vehicles are procured whose environmental impact is to be further reduced. In order to support users and procurement organisations in this process, various practical tools were developed in close cooperation with procurement officers from the federal states of Berlin, Brandenburg and Hessen. In the predecessor project AZ 37257/01, which focussed on passenger cars, an online tool was developed to support the needs assessment, environmental minimum requirements and award criteria, as well as an Excel calculator to determine life cycle costs (LCC). In this follow-up project, the tools for passenger car procurement were updated and extended for light commercial vehicles, taking into account feedback from the field. The follow-up project was funded by the German Federal Environmental Foundation, the Berlin Senate Environmental Administration and the Brandenburg Ministry of the Environment. Another project partner was the Hessian Ministry of Finance. The products developed in the project are available to the public and free of charge at www.nachhaltige-oeffentliche-pkw-beschaffung.de. This report builds on the final report of the previous project and focusses on the changes compared to this one.
